My name is Nolan Johnson and I have been hunting and shooting archery competitively for 12 years. For me, archery started as a way to extend my hunting season by a couple months. Being raised in Saskatchewan has given me a great opportunity to harvest some world class animals with my muzzleloader, rifle and bow. Little did I know that wanting to get a couple extra months of hunting in would turn into a lifestyle.
After joining my local archery club, Melville Tru-Flite, I quickly became introduced to the competitive scene. It all started with attending local fun shoots and before I knew it I was shooting at Provincials, Canadian Nationals, Canada Games and the Championships of the Americas. From here it hasn’t stopped. Along with working 5 days a week, I try to practice at least 4 days a week leaving the weekends open for competitions and hunting.
So far in 2011 I have placed 1st in the Canadian Indoor 3-D Nationals (Open), Mother Of All Shoots IX (Competitive Cash), Saskatchewan Provincial Indoor
3-D (Open) and the Saskatchewan Provincial Indoor FITA (Senior Compound).
