I am a seasoned amateur birder with 320 species on my lifelist. My passion for birds and nature started at a very early age.
For the past three years I have been a long-term Volunteer Field Biologist at Long Point and Prince Edward Point Bird Observatories.
Most significant discovery: Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus), May 13, 2007 at Sauble Beach, Ontario (first nesting of Piping Plovers on the Canadian shore of the Great Lakes since 1977, and the first nest record in Bruce County since 1972).
For the ultimate birding kit, I pair the Vortex Fury 10x42 binoculars with the Vortex Skyline ED spotting scope that offer incredible brightness, high-resolution images and maximum field of view. Thanks to Vortex Canada for their support through the Vortex Canada Pro Staff program.
I am a freelance nature photographer, who focuses on capturing intimate portraits of birds in their natural habitat. I specialize in avian, natural landscapes, wildlife, flora and outdoor recreational photography. Many of my images have been published in nature and conservation magazines, newsletters and websites; newspapers; birding journals, atlases and annual reports.
